Guiding in Kanazawa city and Toyama prefecture on August 5th, 6th in 2025

I received a direct job offer from American guests.

On the first day, 8/5, I guided this American family around Kanazawa.
They enjoyed the highlights of Kanazawa sightseeing.
Moreover, they experienced a tea ceremony. A staff member of the tea house showed basic rules of tea ceremonies to my guests in English. I also enjoyed the tea ceremony.
My guests are very nice. So, I also had a fun time with them.

On the second day, 8/6, I guided the American family around Toyama prefecture.
The guests experienced metal casting in Takaoka City.
We had lunch at a restaurant in Tonami City. The dishes were local, and the guests enjoyed them very much.
We went to Ainokura Gassho Village in the afternoon. My guest said the scenery looked like a time slip.
Finally, we went to Inami District, Nanto City, which is famous for wood carving.

Day two took us on a day trip to Toyama Prefecture, where the journey itself became part of the magic. We spent the morning in a hands on workshop where we got to try metal casting, learn about the history of metalwork in the area, and create unique pieces to bring home. The traditional Japanese lunch was another highlight, a meal that delighted all the senses, it was one of the best we have had in Japan or otherwise. We then visited the stunning mountain village of Ainokura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and walked among its steep thatched-roof homes while learning about Gassho-zukuri architecture and rural life in the Japanese Alps and finally visited Inami, with its extraordinary woodcarving tradition.

What truly sets Sho apart, though, is his heart. He listened carefully to what interested us, adjusted the pacing as needed, and infused both days with warmth, and cultural insight. If you’re looking for a guide who is not only supremely competent but also deeply human and passionate about their region, look no further. These two days gave us not just photos and facts, but a felt sense of connection to a part of Japan that many travelers overlook. We left inspired and grateful.

Guide in Ainokura on 25/03/21

On March 21, I guided a group to Ainokura Gasshozukuri Village, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Inami district, which is famous for wood carving.
There was a lot of snow, even at the end of March.
The guests from Hawaii enjoyed very much for this snow-covered landscape.
They enjoyed buckwheat noodles with tempura and a woodcarving atmosphere in the Inami district, Nanto city.

Guide in Imizu on 25/03/20

On March 20, I guided foreign guests in Imizu City and Takaoka City.
Firstly, we rode the Uchikawa cruise ship from Kaiwomaru Park.
Then, we went to eat a boiled red queen crab. These crabs were very fresh and tasty.
Finally, we went to the Kanaya district in Takaoka.
This area is famous for the origin of copperware in Takaoka city.
My guests enjoyed today’s tour very much.

Guide in Kanazawa on 25/03/16

Last Sunday, I guided an Australian couple around Kanazawa. We went to Noto beef restaurant. The note beef dishes were very tasty. My guests were very satisfied with these dishes. They enjoyed the historical architecture and gardens in Kanazawa city.

Yesterday, I guided Canadian couples around Kanazawa.
They enjoyed tasting Japanese sake in the Higashi Chaya District.
There were plum blossoms in the Buke Yashiki District.
As for lunch, we enjoyed sushi and tempura buckwheat noodle set.
They are very cheerful. I also enjoyed today’s tour very much.

Noh Costume Wearing Experience

A few days ago, I went to Kanazawa Noh Museum near 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, today.
I was excited to experience wearing a Noh costume and mask in this museum. However, this experience is only available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
After this, I went to the restaurant Grill Otsuka for lunch. The hanton rice was tasty.

Day time Crab Auction

A few days ago, I saw a day-time crab auction in Shinminato district, Imizu city, Toyama prefecture.

Firstly, I went to a reception in Kittokito Ichiba.

Then, I went to an auction site to watch a crab auction.

After the auction, I had a seafood rice bowl. It was very fresh.

I started an English website introducing my guide-interpreter and translation jobs in English and engineering.
It is cold even in March. Today, I am checking itineraries for my guests during the busy spring season. I put emphasis on a restaurant for lunch so that I can introduce tasty dishes to my guests.
